18.07.15

I've had a very busy past three days. On Thursday I went to my cousin's bay's naming ceremony and my other cousins wedding and I went for another cousins graduation. I have a lot of cousins.
It's been raining again and I love how it makes the sky look even though it makes the roads terrible.

We didn't spend too long at the ceremony but it was nice to see everyone. My cousin's kids have grown up so fast. My cousin's have grown up so fast. I mean they're married with kids... it's so hard to believe. The way time passes and people change is something I always fail to get used to.

We got to the wedding about half an hour later we made it halfway the service - Hallelujah - and again I met family whose names I forgot, family I forgot and family I never even knew I had. To be honest I didn't even know the bride. I swear it's not my fault, my family is so huge -my dad has 15 siblings, so Lord knows how many cousins I have- and we aren't too close because most of them don't live in Lagos so we don't see them often and my dad isn't very close to his family either.  Back to wedding, so after service was the reception which was terrible as one of my little cousins attacked me for taking his seat (I love kids) and I had to dance. I can't  dance. Disaster. If you want have an idea of how badly I dance I present to you:
Traumatic. On the bright side we made settled a ten year feud with our cousins and  hung out with everyone. It was so funny. We overstayed in the venue for 3 hours and you could tell some people that were clearing up were irritated. You can trust a Yoruba family. My uncle was telling my cousins he'd pay them a million naira if they get married within a year or two. I think he's serious.
After we left most of us came back to my dad's to wait for traffic to pass. Me and cousins watched Shrek which I think is the greatest movie of all time. Did you know it was released in 2001? Time strikes again.

On Friday we had to leave for Benin City for the graduation, but since I needed a dress I had go to my mum's to pick something out. She was still salty. No surprise as she has the maturity of a 6 year old boy. We left around 12:00 because it was a  5-hour drive. 5 H O U R S. I slept most of it anyway, there wasn't much to see just endless lines of bush (God knows what lives in there).

I listened to The Dark Side Of The Moon album on repeat, I wish I could give it a review or something but as you can tell I'm not much of a writer and I know nothing about music, anyway that album is perfect I never thought I could say that but I love every song ( maybe not Speak to Me, because it's basically silence). Shout outs to Great Gig in The Sky, Any Colour You Like, and Us and Them. I'm scared I getting tired of the album  because I've probably played it a dozen times. I also like the song Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space by Spiritualized - It's like just beautiful.
We arrived our hotel around 5:30-6:00. It was painted pink so that was nice.

Me and my sister watched some TV and we had dinner some hours later and our cousin joined us. When we got back we watched Equalizer.

The graduation was loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong. Our emotions can only be properly expressed in pictures and gifs:

My Dad looks like a broken man

Stare of Death

Anyway I'm so proud of Dami for graduating and I hope she has a long prosperous career in Law.
This is getting too long.
Bye xx
